Antalya-Alanya Motorway Project, Türkiye

The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) is considering providing support to the Project Company Antalya Alanya Otoyolu İnşaat Yatırım ve İşletme A.Ş., a joint stock company incorporated in the Republic of Türkiye for financing, design, construction, operation, maintenance and repair of the Antalya-Alanya Motorway Project. The motorway has a total length of 121 km of which 86.5 km of main road and 34.4 km access roads. The Sponsor of the Project is Limak İnşaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., a joint stock company incorporated in the Republic of Türkiye and is the owner of the Project Company.

As per the BSTDB’s Environmental and Social Policy and Public Information Policy greenfield motorways and express roads fall under environmental and social (E&S) Category A. This requires a full Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) process, including meaningful public consultation, and public disclosure on the Bank’s webpage of any E&S information relevant to the Project. Such information will be disclosed at least 60 calendar days for public sector operations before the Project is submitted to the Board of Directors for consideration. Thus, any stakeholder directly or indirectly affected by the Project, or having an interest in it, can review such information, make enquiries, and provide comments. This, however, does not substitute for the obligation of Project Company and the Sponsor to identify stakeholders affected by, or interested in the Project, and communicate with them in a meaningful way.
