BSTDB Participates in 47th BSEC-URTA General Assembly in Thessaloniki
Transport, connectivity and digitalisation remain central to regional integration efforts
The Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) participated in the 47th Meeting of the General Assembly of the BSEC Union of Road Transport Associations (BSEC-URTA), held in Thessaloniki on 22 May 2026 and hosted by the Hellenic Federation of Road Transport Operators (OFAE).
The General Assembly brought together high-level representatives of the international road transport industry, international organisations and institutional stakeholders from across the Black Sea region to discuss recent regional and global developments affecting road transport, logistics and regional connectivity, including ongoing digitalisation initiatives in the sector.
BSTDB was represented by Elif Tunali Nikoglou, Principal Banker, General Industries, Transport and Tourism 2, who highlighted the strategic importance of efficient and resilient road transport infrastructure in supporting regional integration, trade and sustainable economic growth across Southeast Europe and the wider Black Sea area.
BSTDB also presented its activities in support of road transportation and infrastructure development, focusing on investments that strengthen regional connectivity and sustainability. Recent examples included financing for motorway infrastructure projects in Türkiye and Greece, as well as support for sustainable mobility initiatives in Romania.
