Shah Deniz infrastructure project, co-financed by BSTDB, awarded “Deal of 2015”

The Black Sea Trade and Development (BSTDB) has received the “Deal of 2015”
Award by Infrastructure Journal & Project Finance Magazine for its
participation in the financing of the second stage of the Shah Deniz
infrastructure project in Azerbaijan. The development of this landmark natural
gas field project, financed by BSTDB along with EBRD, ADB and a group of
commercial lenders will help transport the gas from Azerbaijan via Georgia and
Türkiye to Greece and Bulgaria, and on to Italy, from where it can reach wider
Europe. The USD 1 billion project, expected to provide more than 16.000 jobs by
2022, is crucial for energy security and common gas market in Europe.
