Description and Purpose of the Operation:: Revolving and Committed, Pre-Export Financing Credit Facility to finance sub-loans to be on-lent by Borrower to Beneficiary exclusively for the purposes of financing working capital necessary for the performance of Underlying Export Transactions to which the Beneficiaries are a party. The Borrower has sent a cancellation notice to be effective from 23 November 2006. Outstanding amount of the facility will be repaid as per its original schedule until 27 July 2007

Borrower/Client:: Banca Transilvania S.A. was incorporated in Romania in 1993 and licensed by the National Bank of Romania to conduct banking activities. The Bank started its operations in 1994 and its main operations involve corporate and retail operations in Romania. Its shares have been listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange since 1997. As of end-June 2005, Banca Transilvania represented 3.4% of the domestic banking system’s assets and is considered a relatively small bank by both Romanian and international standard. The Bank’s presence is greater in its hometown of Transilvania with approximately half of its business coming from this area.

Developmental and Regional Cooperation Impact:: Working with BT will achieve the BSTDB’s operational objectives and support their activities in financing eligible trade transactions. By working with BT BSTDB will be able to reach a larger number of companies in Romania and contribute to increasing of intra-regional trade among BSEC countries.
