- Developmental and Regional Cooperation Impact:
- In line with the Bank's strategy for Greece, the project supports the diversification of power supply and will increase the power production from renewable energy sources. The Operation will also contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions leading to long-term environmental benefits.
- Environmental Classification and Impact:
- According to BSTDB environmental screening categories the operation has been assigned B0 environmental category due to limited EHS impacts whichare well understood and can be efficiently mitigated by adhering togenerally accepted industry standards, guidelines and design criteria for wind farms. The assessment revealed that Terna Energy undertakes environmental and social assessments for each specific project, including commissioning of ornithological surveys in order to determine the potential impact on ornithofauna. The Company is required to: 1) remain compliant at all times with applicable Greek/EU EHS legal requirements; 2) strictly follow the approved EHS terms during construction and operation of wind farms and 3) submit to the Bank annual EHS performance reports.
