Description and Purpose of the Operation:: The project refers to a medium-term loan to Agricover SRL and Agricover SA (as co- obligors) to support Agricover Group's further vertical integration and geographical expansion strategy, as well as a medium-term loan to Agricover Credit IFN to finance grain farmers in Romania which supply the Group’s processing and trading companies.

Developmental and Regional Cooperation Impact:: The Operation possesses economic development potential for the Black Sea Region. It will contribute to the activities of a successful Group in Romania and its expansion to Bulgaria. This will bring-in development impact and promote cooperation among member countries via investments and exports.
Environmental Classification and Impact:: According to BSTDB's Environmental Screening Categories Agricover Group has been screened as Category B due to the fact that the EHS impacts associated with it are limited, easily identifiable and can be mitigated/minimized or avoided by adhering to generally accepted performance standards, guidelines and design criteria for this type of agribusiness activities. Agricover Credit deals with financing of SMEs active in agribusiness sector and it provides working capital for a range of activities in crop production, livestock production, processing, transportation, storage, etc., and it has been screened as FI Category and will be dealt with like a financial institution.
