Developmental and Regional Cooperation Impact:: The Project is expected to have positive economic benefits for the region, and the Turkish economy more both during the construction phase, as well as during the operational phase. The most relevant of these are new employment creation, demonstration effects, upstream linkages with suppliers, a favorable multiplier effect in the region, and most importantly improved and expanded provision of health care for the public.
Environmental Classification and Impact:: The Operation has been assigned Environmental and Social (E&S) Category B+ due to the nature of the project, which is greenfield, and the healthcare sector, which potentially can generate medium to high E&S risks and impacts. These however are site-specific, readily identifiable, readily addressed by standard industry practice mitigation measures, and are largely reversible.
