Description and Purpose of the Operation:: A long-term loan to Epicentr Group, Ukraine to partially finance the Group’s corporate development program for 2019-2021. The BSTDB funds will support the development of the agriculture business of the Group. More specifically the loan proceeds will be used to finance construction of 3 new and modernization of 4 existing grain silos and purchase of agricultural machinery.

Developmental and Regional Cooperation Impact:: The Operation will contribute to investment in agribusiness in Ukraine (an industry with clear competitive advantage of the country). It will lead to upgrade and extension of production assets, creation of new jobs and mobilization of tax revenues. In addition, it is estimated to increase export potential of Ukraine, including growth of agricultural commodity trading within BSTDB area and beyond.
Environmental Classification and Impact:: The Operation is associated with various E&S issues common for the sector. The risks and impacts are normally site-specific of medium (and sometimes of high) significance, limited in nature, and which can be readily managed by adhering to good practices and standards widely applicable in the agribusiness industry
