Description and Purpose of the Operation:: Provision of a long-term loan facility to SAS Group LLC Armenia to support its expansion plans and strengthen the country’s retail sector. The financing will fund the construction of new retail outlets in Yerevan and help refinancing the company’s existing loan portfolio for financial sustainability and long-term growth.

Developmental and Regional Cooperation Impact:: The financing in a well-established local company like SAS Group will help to modernize retail infrastructure, enhance consumer access, and create tangible economic value—from increased employment to stronger links with domestic producers. Moreover, given the fact that a number of BSTDB's countries of operation, i.e. Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine are suppliers of food products to Armenia, the development of a food distribution system in the country may be expected to contribute positively to economic cooperation and trade among several countries of the Black Sea Region.
Environmental Classification and Impact:: Screened E&S Category B, indicating medium risks manageable through mitigation measures. The Group complies with Armenian environmental, labour, health, and safety regulations, ensured through internal audits. While the E&S management system is not internationally certified, it aligns with Armenian regulations and includes an Action Plan focused on waste reduction and energy efficiency. The Group adheres to the Armenian Labour Code, providing fair wages (exceeding the minimum), benefits, and safe working conditions.
