- Description and Purpose of the Operation:
- Construction of a new compressor on the existing Ananyev-Izmail gas pipeline at Tarutino. The compressor station will increase the quantity of gas available at the Romanian border by 3.8 bcma. The project is the first phase of a programme that will increase the delivery of Russian gas to Turkey and other south European countries.

- Developmental and Regional Cooperation Impact:
- The operation is in line with the mandate of BSTDB to finance projects with a strong co-operation impact, promoting complementarities and synergies among the member states. As a first step, it will increase the transit capacity of the southern Ukrainian system. The project will allow better exploitation of the idle capacity in the existing pipeline crossing Romania and Bulgaria.
